 LOVIN' Chloe
'cause They're doing  OUR Thing:
Bohemian with a
Twist.

So... we were expecting a BIG BANG in the fashion world this spring/summer, after the fall/winter 2014 excitement, and boy did we get it with some interesting pieces above! Their psychedelic enthusiasm, clean lines or innocent simplicity - which never seem to go out of style - had to be shared as our faves.

Our last season favourite, Mara Hoffman, did not disappoint. From hand beaded and embroidered minis to cut out maxi dresses and lace up one piece bathing suits - all including her techno print or animal motif - left us wanting more... no really, we wanted more... Mara's play with cross cultural, particularly, African, styling is a definite look this season, as a stroll through Holt (Renfrew) will tell you. Indeed, "a dreamworld of colour," Mara. Thank you!

Not to be left out of school, Puglisi - Fausto Puglisi - costume creator for Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. at Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show, also had us wagging our tongues. His sporty, chic look highlighted in leopard made us sit up and take notice. As if a splash of leopard were insufficient, establishing a solid, gladiator edge is a definite call for attention. It is no wonder this designer is loved by today's most controversial, strong minded, women.

From the strong and powerful woman we transition to the fluidity of CHLOE. Though breezy and breathy this woman is an equal force. These looks are the winners of the season - if you LOVE fun, whimsical, sexy BOHEMIAN - which, obviously, we do. Oh YES we do! It is agreed, if we had a version of these samples for every day this summer, we would wear them even in a thunder storm... so hard pressed would we be to remove these Venetian fairy garments from our bodies!

Keep an eye on a few designers we expect to see more of: Aleks Susak - model turned designer - has a certain something in her feminine leather combination. As seen hanging from the walls of top retailers, Aleks is on to much. Also, Shravan Kumar's Indian pieces made from his personally employed weavers of fabric, are a look many of us would appreciate incorporating into our wardrobes. You will have to check out the website of Susak and Kumar's facebook page to share our interest. Another must mention is Nika Tang. This California designer offers an old school sophistication to the extreme, that feeds upon old Hollywood glamour... Lastly, we weren't going to do this because her look may be out of this world for some, but, Sara Armstrong has to be on The Watch List. Her androgynous, industrial, Spring Summer display was absolutely contrary to the expectation of the season - which, of course - we love. ANYTHING contrary to the average person's expectation is a must do. Check out her CRAZY website.

We did not leave our men out; no guys, you are not forgotten. We leave you with Columbian born designer, Haider Ackermann's pieces we find most intriguing. Included with his men's summer expression, we included a peek at his fall presentation. Queenie Brown Magazine calls him the Johnny Depp of fashion - not surprisingly, some of his pieces have an Edward Scissorhand effect to them.

Enjoy!
