THIS is Bad for Me, TOO?

After much searching, I realized I was hard pressed to find any NATURAL mascara with ingredients less than a LOW HAZARD rating from our government watchers. WHAAAT???

What was a woman to do?

What every woman does who cannot find what she wants: she makes it, herself.

Now, I am not announcing my own make up line or anything - well,

Upon visiting my local make up shop - which I usually avoid because I find the whole experience completely overwhelming - hunting for my new

FAVOURITE, all natural, mascara, I was shocked when the lovely little make

up associate informed me that my favourite mascara was

  NOT  All Natural!

Not All Natural??? But, it is called Pur Mineral, for Pete's sake!

"It has argan oil in it, but it is not an All Natural product;" she stated "not

the way you explain it: chemical free."

I had a hard time understanding how all natural could NOT be

chemical free... My poor, patient, make up associate tried to explain,

"NO product would be 100% chemical free 'cause how else would it have

      a bacteria free shelf life?"

      My head hurt.

Then the light bulb went off! Could THAT be why, in spite of the fact

that I buy new mascara every three months, after a period of wearing make up my

eyes feel invaded by salt chunks?

DANG!! False

advertisement got me, again!

I Hate when that happens.

not YET, anyway - but here is a little tid bit I am experimenting with: Activated Charcoal and egg yolk. WARNING: Activated Charcoal is not the sort of product I would suggest ingesting - unless so prescribed by a medical professional, of course! But, this is the fastest, easiest approach I found, to date. My next experiment will include Cocoa. If I were vegan, or had an egg allergy, I would replace the egg with other ingredients: corn starch, bees wax and or coconut oil, but, this quick technique is working, so far!

This concoction will only last for two weeks, so, I will update FB, IN and Twitter posts as time passes, documenting the successes - and NOT so very successful results - of upcoming batches. Maybe, I'll even include a recipe or two!
